Connecting AI apps

AI apps and agents reach your knowledge base through one link, https://mcp.kenby.app (an MCP server). Setup steps for each app are under Connect agents in the sidebar.

How to connect an app

  1. In the AI app, add a custom connector or MCP server and paste https://mcp.kenby.app. In Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. In ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors (Developer mode), then Create.

  2. The app opens Kenby's sign-in page. Sign in with your Kenby account.

  3. Choose whether the app may also add and edit notes (on by default; it can never delete anything), then click Allow access.

  4. Ask the app something your notes cover, for example "Search my Kenby knowledge base: what do my notes say about pricing?"

Apps with a setup page in Kenby: Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Codex. Any other app that supports MCP works with the same link.

What an app can do

See Agent tools for each tool. Searches return the same verified passages as the app (see How answers are verified).

API keys and REST

Scripts and services without a sign-in use an API key (starting kenby_live_), created in Connect agents → API keys & REST. A key can call the REST endpoint POST https://kenby.app/api/public/v1/context-query or the MCP server. Keys are read-only unless you turn on writing when you create one.

Turning access off

Connect agents lists every connected app and API key. Switch writing on or off, disconnect an app or revoke a key at any time; it applies on the app's next call.
